2016/2017 School Year Calendar
Below is the agreed school calendar for 2016/2017. Contingency  arrangements have been put in place within the standardised school year to deal with unforseen school closures. Parents should be aware of these contingency arrangements if booking holidays. |

School reopens on Thursday 1st September 2016
October 2016 mid-term break
All schools will close from Monday 31st October 2016 to Friday 4th November 2016 inclusive.
Christmas 2016
All schools will close on Friday 23rd December 2016, which will be the final day of the school term.
All schools will re-open on Monday 9th January 2017.
In Service Training
The school will be closed to students on Thursday 26 January 2017 for staff training for the new Literacy Curriculum and Junior Cycle
February 2017 mid-term break
School will be closed from Monday 20th February 2017 until Friday 24th February 2017 inclusive (unless changes are required as part of contingency arrangements to make up for time lost due to unforeseen school closures. Where contingency arrangements are required a school authority may reduce the length of the February mid-term break by remaining open up to and including Wednesday 22nd February 2017).
St. Patrick’s Day 2017
All schools will close on Friday 17th March 2017
In Service Training
The school will be closed to students on Wednesday 29 March 2017 for staff training for the new Literacy Curriculum and Junior Cycle
Easter 2017
All schools will close on Monday 10 April 2017, which will be the final day of the school term, unless changes are required as part of contingency arrangements to make up for time lost due to unforeseen school closures. Where contingency arrangements are required a school authority may reduce the length of the Easter break by remaining open up to and including Wednesday 12th April 2017.
All schools will re-open on Monday 24th April 2017.
